وحذرت الشرطة المحلية سكان المدينة عند التنقل عبر الطرق من تساقط الثلوج مع المطر.
فيما نشر حساب حديقة "سنترال بارك" الشهيرة، الثلوج وهي تغطي الحديقة.

وبدأت بلدية نيويورك رش طرق المدينة بمواد تذيب الثلوج، وخاصة قرب مداخل المترو.
وارتفع سعر مواصلات سيارة الأجرة لمسافة 2.6 كلم، بعد تساقط الثلوج من 18 دولاراً، إلى 48 دولاراً.
